weekend recap

This weekend was both busy and mellow, which I think is pretty good considering it was the weekend before Christmas.

I went to the gym after work on Friday and then spent the rest of the evening making dinner and cleaning the house. We ended the night watching Battleship. Have you seen it? It is god awful but most likely something I will watch again. I just know it.

Saturday morning I got up, went to the gym, and then headed to meet one of my bridesmaids for brunch. We chatted over Mexican food and margaritas. It was the perfect send off for the holidays. After that, I packed up her pup and dropped him off with B while I went to brave the mall with one of our groomsmen. Did you follow that? Anyway, surprisingly the mall wasn't as terrible as I expected it to be. And we finished our shopping within an hour. Our 4th annual stocking stuffer shopping excursion was quite the success!
Once I got home, I napped on the couch with the pup and we dedicated the rest of the night to movies and leftovers.

Sunday was reserved for nothing. More specifically it was reserved for just me and B (okay and Stedman too). And it was just that. We lazily woke up, had coffee and breakfast, and watched some TV. Sometime in the afternoon we pulled ourselves from the couch to take Stedy on a nice long walk through the trails behind our house.
After the walk, I decided that since I was up it was probably best to start making dinner. So I did. It took me a total of 4 hours! Pozole from scratch is no simple task people. But it was well worth it. The house smelled so good, I only set the smoke alarm off once, and I got to have a little taste of home this holiday season even though I won't be there this year.

So... how was your weekend?
